James H. Bittel – Charleroi

James H. Bittel, 75, of Charleroi passed away on Thursday, March 21, 2019. Born on Jan. 5, 1944, he was the son of the late Cletus and Mildred Bittel. He graduated from Owensboro Catholic High School in Kentucky, where he was an active member of Blessed Mother Church. Jim was a retired drill sergeant with the U.S. Army Reserve and had worked security at Mon Valley Hospital and on a shipyard. He was a member of Mary, Mother of the Church in Charleroi and a lifetime member of the NRA and American Legion Post 9 in Owensboro. Jim is survived by his wife, Janice Bittel; daughter, Sarah Terrell; siblings, David (Loretta) Bittel, Theresa (Alan) Morris, Ruth Ann (Lucio) Nunez and Angela (Butch) Knight, all of Kentucky; grandson, Tyler Terrell; great-granddaughter, Sophia; aunt, Pauline Wedding; and several cousins, nieces and nephews. Per Jim’s wishes, there will be no services and his remains will be returned to his birth home in Kentucky. CARL J. SPALLINO FUNERAL HOME, Charleroi, Joseph A.
