Hitting, new pitchers focus for BVA

The 2019 softball season is year 1 A.B. for Belle Vernon Area.
“After Bailey,” as in Bailey Parshall.
The flame-throwing, hard- hitting Parshall, now pitching for Penn State University, helped lead BVA to three WPIAL titles in her four years.
Last year, the Leopards went 22-4 and captured the WPIAL 4A title and advanced to the quarterfinals of the PIAA playoffs.
Although BVA has six starters returning from a year ago, veteran coach Tom Rodriguez knows things are going to be a little different for his team this season.
