Sydney Kirkwood is one of many top offensive threats for the Gladiators.

Entering his 10th season as head softball coach at South Allegheny, Hal Minford has seen a lot of success over his tenure.
He has led the Gladiators to the WPIAL Class 3A playoffs in each of the last seven seasons and has continued the culture of winning that had been established since before he got the job.
Last season kept that success going as South Allegheny finished the year 11-6, including a 6-4 record in section play, and advancing to the postseason.
For Minford and his team, it was a disappointing season considering they did not take a step forward and make a run in the playoffs.
