There is no shortage of optimism surrounding the Elizabeth Forward softball team entering the 2019 season.

The Warriors appeared in the WPIAL championship game last season for the first time since 2012 and third time in program history before advancing to the PIAA playoffs.

They’re faced with having to replace Cassidy Kern and Kaylee Ludwick along with sophomore Kaitlyn Fournier, who chose not to play this season to focus on volleyball.

But with six starters returning and a roster consisting of three freshmen, five sophomores, six juniors and three seniors, head coach Harry Rutherford is confident the Warriors can take a step forward and do damage in Class 4A.
