Massari’s love of rugby turns into championship

When Alex Massari was a student at Bethany College, she played on the school’s volleyball and track squads.

However, when the Ringgold High grad from Monongahela transferred to California University of Pennsylvania, she found herself out of the loop of sports competition.

Always a competitive person, Massari found herself looking to quench that thirst at Cal.

An offer from a friend provided an outlet.

“A friend of mine played rugby and she got me to try it in 2017,” Massari said. “I immediately fell in love with the sport.”
