Grand Theatre presenting ‘Shrek the Musical Jr.’

Patrons who visit Grand Theatre in Elizabeth this weekend will be taking a journey to a far away swamp that is home to a big green ogre.
Mon River Art’s production of “Shrek the Musical Jr.” will open at 7:30 p.m. Thursday.
There will also be performances at 7:30 p.m. Friday; 2 and 6 p.m. Saturday and 2 p.m. Sunday at Grand Theatre, located at 207 S. Second Ave. in Elizabeth.
Tickets cost $8 in advance, $10 at the door. Thursday’s performance is a “Pay What You Can Night.” No reservations are required and donations are accepted at the door. Seating is first come, first serve.
