Cal U upsets Glenville State in overtime

The fourth-seeded Vulcans held the nation’s leading scoring offense to a season low point total to earn an 87-77 overtime win at top-seeded and host Glenville State in the second round of the NCAA Tournament on Saturday night at the Waco Center.
Cal U advances to face third-seeded IUP in the regional final at 7 p.m. tonight.
Abbey Sporio, an Elizabeth Forward graduate, nearly recorded a triple-double while setting a career high with 25 points, nine steals and eight rebounds.
Sporio scored 16 points in the first half for the Vulcans (26-5) and is now averaging 16.5 points, 5.4 rebounds, 2.9 assists and 3.0 steals over her last 11 games.
