Charleroi Academic League recognizes award winners

Area students were recognized for their hard work and dedication during the 29th annual Charleroi Academic League Awards Day Ceremony this week.

The league is open to students in grades nine through 12 from the Charleroi Area, Avella Area, Bentworth, Beth Center, California Area, Frazier, Monessen and Washington school districts.

Vanessa DiCianna, teacher/librarian and gifted teacher at Charleroi, coordinated the event this year.

Work begins in September, as Charleroi hosts monthly quiz competitions and students begin racking up scores.
