Younger Serra Catholic holds high expectations

Over the last 10 years, the Serra Catholic baseball team has been a mainstay in the WPIAL and PIAA playoff team.
Under veteran head coach Brian Dzurenda, the Eagles have made the WPIAL playoffs every season in the last decade and have appeared in the state tournament seven times, winning three WPIAL titles and one PIAA crown.
Serra once again appeared in both tournaments, but didn’t get the results it was seeking.
After going 19-1 overall and 14-0 in Section 3-2A play during the regular season, the Eagles advanced to the WPIAL Class 2A championship game against North Catholic and fell, 5-2, at Wild Things Park in Washington on May 29.
