BVA’s Shahan, Ringgold’s Vogt claim PIAA gold

Ian Shahan started Wednesday’s evening session of the PIAA Class 2A swimming championships with his Belle Vernon teammates in the boys 200-yard medley relay.

The quartet finished fifth overall, and Shahan found himself on the medals podium.

But the sophomore wasn’t done.

Shahan returned in the 100 butterfly and produced a personal-best time of 48.83 seconds to capture the state title.
