Vulcans earn No. 4 seed in regional tourney

The California University women’s basketball team earned the No. 4 seed as an at-large selection in the Atlantic Regional of the NCAA Tournament Sunday night.
The Vulcans, who are making their 16th overall appearance in the NCAA Tournament, and will take on No. 5 Charleston (W.Va.) in the first round at 7:30 p.m. Friday in Glenville, W.Va.
Like Cal U, the Golden Eagles (25-6) received an at-large berth after advancing to the championship of the Mountain East Conference Tournament this weekend.
The two teams played at the MEC/PSAC Challenge at Cal U’s Convocation Center on Nov. 11 with the Vulcans coming away with a 70-53 victory.
