Jerry Frost Sr. – Monessen

Jerry Frost Sr. went home to be with the Lord on March 4, 2019, surrounded by his loving family, after an extended illness. He was a son of the late Edward Sr. and Roberta Tartt Frost. He was preceded in death by seven brothers and one sister. He was born in Charleroi Monessen Hospital on Sept. 27,1952. Jerry graduated from Donora Hight School in 1972, where he played football and was always the life of the party. After graduation Jerry gained employment at USX Clairton Works where he retired after 31 years of service. He was an avid fisherman, loved to hunt, collect cars and watch CNN. Jerry was always dressed to perfection for every occasion with a hat to match. On every given Sunday, you could find Jerry at church and then watching his Steelers. Jerry was a member of the First Baptist Church of Donora. A loyal brother of Okay Lodge No. 697 I.B.P.O.E. of W in Monessen, where he enjoyed Sunday Night Oldies. He leaves to cherish in his memory his loving wife of 37 years, Charlene Frost of Monessen; one son, Jerry Frost Jr., (Amber) of Monessen; five daughters, Shawane Frost, Maya Lawson of McKeesport, Crystal Foster (Fred), Kisha Bradley (Curtis), all of Monessen, and Susan Clark (Greg) of Florida; two brothers, Jesse Frost (Diane) West Newton and Timothy Heilman (Chris) of Donora; one sister, Mary “Katie” Frost of Florida; 23 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; one godson, Desmick Louis of Seattle, Wash.; and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Jerry was a bright light that shined like no other, it showed in his smile and kind heart. He was loved by all that knew him. He will be greatly missed forever. Visitation for familiy and friends will be received from 1 to 3 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, March 11, 2019, at the First Baptist Church, 541 Allen Ave., Donora, where Quallan T. Hawkins is the pastor. Interment will be private. The Elks service will take place at 7.p.m. at the church. Final celebrations entrusted to the MARSHALL MARRA FUNERAL HOME, 216 Chess St., Monongahela, PA 15063, 724-258-6767, Marshall Marra, funeral director, Bryan Lawson, assistant director.
