Southwestern Pennsylvania saw snow accumulation Sunday, and the Mon Valley wasn’t immune from it.

Snow started falling in the Valley early Sunday afternoon and continued through the evening. Snowfall became lighter around 9:30 p.m. and tapered off before midnight.

Valley roads saw a light coating of accumulation by 6 p.m. as a snow created slick conditions for motorists.

The National Weather Service of Pittsburgh issued a winter weather advisory at 10:51 a.m. Sunday that remained in effect for Allegheny, Fayette, Washington and Westmoreland counties until 1 a.m. today. NWS predicted the area would see 2 to 6 inches of accumulation, and about 3 inches had fallen late Sunday night.
