This weekend, Ringgold High School will present “Once on this Island,” a wild ride through a peasant girl’s life on an island, guided by four gods and her love for a boy from a higher class.

The production is led by juniors Taylor Sevick, playing Ti Moune, Cole Nickolls, who portrays Daniel, Alexandra Magone, playing Asaka the mother of the Earth, Kylee Pry as Erzulie the goddess of love, and Sydney Kulsic playing Papa Ge the demon of death.

Sophomore Colton Cartwright plays Agwe, god of water.

The students say it’s a great story within a story. The musical begins with villagers telling a frightened girl the story of Ti Moune and Daniel to calm her nerves about an impending storm.
