Turnovers haunt Serra in title game loss

Preparing for the WPIAL playoffs, and ultimately the championship game, Serra Catholic head coach Justin Walther talked about valuing the basketball.
As much as the Eagles prepped for what Our Lady of the Sacred Heart was going to do to them on Friday, ultimately it comes down to execution.
The Chargers executed their gameplan and the Eagles committed 29 turnovers as they suffered a 65-46 loss in the WPIAL Class 2A championship game at Pitt’s Petersen Events Center.
“Our main objective was to value the basketball and outrebound them,” Walther said. “We were up 5-0 pretty quick there and I thought it could have been more than that. We just kept turning the ball over.”
