It simply wasn’t the outcome Serra Catholic had hoped for.

After rolling through Section 2-2A during the regular season and defeating Sto-Rox and Sewickley Academy to reach the WPIAL Class 2A championship game, the second-seeded Eagles met their match in No. 1 Our Lady of Sacred Heart, suffering a 65-46 loss.

Miscues cost the Eagles as they turned the ball over 29 times in the defeat.

“The score isn’t indicative of how we played,” Serra Catholic head coach Justin Walther said. “If we don’t turn the ball over, it’s a completely different game.”
