Vulcans jump up a spot in national poll

The California University women’s basketball team jumped one spot to No. 17 in the latest Women’s Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) Top 25 poll on Tuesday.

The Vulcans (22-3) earned a pair of victories last week to extend their winning streak to four.

Cal U used a balanced scoring effort Feb. 20 to earn a 76-56 victory at Mercyhurst, as seven players scored at least seven points.

The Vulcans then claimed a 73-65 win over then-No. 3 IUP on Saturday after totaling their second-most three-pointers in a game this season (10 of 21).
