Eagles soar to the ‘Pete’

Serra Catholic head coach Justin Walther celebrated the birth of his first son Declan on Sunday.

On Tuesday, Walther and his Eagles celebrated another berth, into the WPIAL Class 2A championship game Friday.

Jimmy Moon poured in a team-high 30 points and grabbed down 19 rebounds to lead No. 2-seed Serra Catholic to a 57-49 win over No. 3 Sewickley Academy in a semifinal game at Peters Township.

It was a showdown between two of the top players in 2A, Moon and the Panthers’ Isiah Warfield.
