Acting BVA superintendent says good-bye

Monday was a bittersweet night for the Belle Vernon Area school board.

After appointing three candidates to fill vacancies created last week following the sudden resignation of board members, directors unanimously voted to accept the resignation of Acting Superintendent Michele Dowell. 

Dowell, who has held the position since May, accepted a job as Ringgold’s curriculum director last week. 

On Monday, she offered an emotional explanation for the move.
