3 new directors appointed at BVA

Belle Vernon Area School Board is hopeful for the future after filling three vacancies Monday.
Daniel E. Engstrom, Daniel G. Kovatch and Stacey Livengood were selected to replace Aaron Bialon, John M. Nusser Jr. and Daniel Sepesky, who all resigned before the Feb. 19 meeting.
Ten candidates applied to fill the vacancies, and the selections were made by the six incumbent directors who were present at Monday’s meeting, Lou Rood, Joe Grata, Michelle Callaway-Rodriguez, Kathleen Forte, Joel Whiteko and Gloria Yuschak.
After hearing brief testimonies from all the candidates, Solicitor Vic Kustra was appointed temporary chairman to conduct the meeting until the appointments were made.
