Heading into its WPIAL Class 2A quarterfinal matchup, Serra Catholic coaches and players were well aware of how dominant Our Lady of the Sacred Heart forward Ashley Norling can be.
The 5-11 forward is the Chargers leading scorer and a dominating presence inside while having a mid-range jumper in her arsenal.
The senior proved to be a thorn in the side of the fifth-seeded Eagles Thursday, scoring 18 of her game-high 29 points in the first half to lead No. 4 OLSH to a 56-40 victory at Canon-McMillan.
Norling also reached the 1,000-point plateau, hitting the mark on a layup with 1:12 to go in the game.
