Dolores Marie Veschio, 89, a lifelong resident of Donora, was called to her heavenly home to be with her Lord and Savior peacefully in her residence on Wednesday, Feb. 20, 2019. Born in Donora on Aug. 12, 1929, she was a daughter of the late William and Mary Tener Supp. A lifetime member of St. Nicholas Russian Orthodox Church in Donora, Mrs. Veschio was very active with the church choir and held numerous offices in the various church organizations. As well as being a homemaker, Mrs. Veschio worked for Badzik Printing in Donora for 17 years. Dolores was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who loved reading and enjoyed doing crossword puzzles. She was a die-hard Pittsburgh sports enthusiast who loved her Steelers and Pirates. She lived for the weekends and enjoyed watching college and professional sports. Dolores belonged to the BON Card Club since 1956 and enjoyed playing cards with friends and family throughout her life. In addition to being dedicated to her loving husband, Ralph, for 68 years, Dolores was devoted to her daily and evening prayers and had a strong faith. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Joe Supp; and two brothers-in-law, Bernard and Bill Veschio. She is survived by her husband, Ralph A. Veschio, whom she married in 1950; three children, Rachelle “Shellie” Veschio of Winston-Salem, N.C., Randy Veschio of Donora and Rick (Cori) Veschio of White Oak; four grandchildren, Jason, Brandon, Joel and Dominique; one great-grandson, Denali; sister, Trudy (Ed) Kearns of Donora; three brothers-in-law, Val (Helen) Veschio of Monessen, Tim Veschio of Florida and Tony Veschio of California; one sister-in-law, Dolores Supp of Baldwin; her goddaughter, Cassie Astle of Carroll Township; and numerous nieces and nephews. Arrangements have been entrusted to the ANTHONY L. MASSAFRA FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATION SERVICE INC., 40 Second St. Ext., Carroll Township/Donora PA 15033, 724-379-6900, where the family will receive friends from 2 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 24, 2019. Services will be held on Monday, Feb. 25, 2019, beginning with a 9:15 a.m. prayer service in the funeral home, followed by a 10 a.m. funeral Liturgy in St. Nicholas Russian Orthodox Church, Donora, with Father Gregory Peterson officiating. Interment will follow in Mon Valley Memorial Park, Donora.
