McKeesport man sought on gun charge

Police are searching for a Mc-Keesport man who was allegedly in possession of a gun that was owned by a man who failed to report it stolen.

Zackary Everett Goodwin, 31, of Jenny Lind Street, was charged with persons not to possess a firearm, carrying a firearm without a license, fleeing or attempting to elude police, carrying a loaded weapon and multiple traffic violations following a Valentine’s Day traffic stop on Jenny Lind Street.

Around 6 p.m. Feb. 14, McKeesport police officer Eli Tubin came across a parked car on the 2500 block with no one inside, but its engine was running and its four-way hazard flashers were on. The car had a suspended license plate, according to an affidavit of probable cause.

As Tubin was turning his vehicle around so he could park and investigate if there was a driver nearby, a man wearing a black jacket and blue jeans, later identified via a driver’s license photo as Goodwin, got into the car and started driving away, the affidavit states.
