Serra Catholic girls prepared for playoff date with Vikings

When it comes to taking teams to the WPIAL girls basketball playoffs, Bill Cleary has been more successful than most coaches.

In his 32nd season guiding Serra, Cleary has the Eagles (17-4) in the postseason for the 31st year after sharing the Sec. 2-2A title with Brentwood.

And while his team has been seeded no higher than fifth in the Class AA playoffs, Cleary likes what he has been seeing from his squad.

The Eagles have won six straight games going into tonight’s first rounder against Sto-Rox (10-12), a 6:30 p.m. tip at Peters Township.
