Douglas T. Gordon, 71, of Belle Vernon, departed this life on Feb. 14, 2019, at H.J. Heinz VA hospital in Aspinwall. He was the son of the late Dolly Avery Rone and Alfred Rone of Pricedale. He was a member of Antioch Baptist Church in Belle Vernon and was employed by Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel. After retirement, he spent his days doing maintenance for his church and fishing as his hobby. He lovingly leaves his children, Danielle T. Walker (William) of Moreno Valley, Calif., Racquel Mack and Douglas Byrdsong of Detroit, Mich.; and sister, Jacqueline Rone Johnson of Monessen. Douglas leaves to cherish his memory nephews, Troy Gordon, Tony Jones (Mia) of Atlanta, Ga., and Micheal Burton Jr. (Pearlisa) of Detroit, Mich.; nieces, Lisa Johnson of Monessen, Michelle (Lamont), Anita (Demario) and Tiffany (Ken) of Detroit, Mich.; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, family and friends; and two special friends, James Jackson and Earnest Potts. Beside his parents, Douglas was preceded in death by his sister, Dorothy Jones; and brother, Micheal Burton. Viewing will take place from 1 to 3 p.m. Monday, Feb. 18, 2019, with the service starting at 3 p.m. at Antioch Baptist Church, 945 Henry St., Belle Vernon, with the Rev. Clifford A. Carter officiating. Final celebration has been gently placed in the hands of the HOUSE OF JACKSON MEMORIAL CHAPEL, 546 Thompson Ave., Donora, PA 15033, 724-379-5420, Karl Jackson, funeral director.
