A heavy dose of Jimmy Moon. It’s been the recipe for good things for the Serra Catholic boys, and usually spells destruction for their opponents.
In a playoff tuneup between two section champions – one from 2A and one from 3A – it was Serra Catholic getting the best of visiting Seton-LaSalle, 69-59, on the Eagles’ home floor.
“We have to play someone and this year we kind of stepped it up a level,” Eagles head coach Justin Walther said. “I figured we were going to be able to pull away a little bit, a little later than I thought. We got the big run though in the fourth quarter, Jimmy hit a couple threes and that was it.”
Moon continued his dominance gathering double-doubles, achieving the rare first-half double-double on his way to 25 points and 24 rebounds.
