Greyhounds close season with rout of New Brighton

The Monessen girls basketball team closed out its season with a 52-34 victory over New Brighton at the Pittsburgh Classic Tournament at Ambridge High School Saturday.

The Greyhounds (7-14) led 24-7 at halftime and outscored New Brighton, 28-27, in the second half.

Zykavia Hairston finished with a game-high 16 points for Monessen.

Bianca Anderson paced New Brighton (2-18) with 12 points.
