On a night where McKeesport honored its four seniors, a former head coach and a 42-point scorer, the Tigers surely made members of their fanbase a little nervous.

McKeesport (8-4, 11-9) overcame a slow start with a big second half to down visiting Gateway, 58-50, in its Section 1-5A finale.

Senior Thomas Wyatt scored a team-high 16 points with nine of those coming in the key third quarter for the Tigers. Junior Deamontae Diggs also hit double figures with 13 points and was honored after the game for his school record 42-point performance Jan. 8 against Woodland Hills.

At halftime, former longtime McKeesport head coach Dan Pacella was honored as well.
