Port Vue Council approved two Eagle Scout projects in the borough at Wednesday’s meeting.

Chase Nicomatti, 17, is taking on the challenge of repainting all the borough’s fire hydrants. Port Vue rents the fire hydrants from West Penn Water Company, and borough manager Milasa Migliori will send a letter to the company to secure permission for Nicomatti’s project.

Port Vue Fire Chief Brandon Hale he’s on board with the project as long as the hydrants are painted a color that can easily been seen at night. He also requested that the few hydrants that open opposite that the caps be painted a different color so they are easily identified.

Eagle Scout Anthony Geffert, 17, requested permission to place two library boxes in the borough at the police station and the ballfield.
