A Mon Valley maestro will be remembered for his decades of dedication to the music industry in the Mon Valley.

A lifetime love of music began for Joe Campus while he was still in high school, playing the trumpet behind some of the industry’s biggest names in the Butterfly Room of the former Twin Coaches Supper Club in Rostraver Township.

Campus, who died last week at age 83, spent four years providing musical accompaniment for acts such as The Will Mastin Trio, Jack Jones and the McGuire Sisters.

He joined the Army at 22 and served for two years before coming home and picking up where he left off.
