Leon Warren Carson – Belle Vernon

Leon Warren Carson, 82, of Belle Vernon, passed away on Monday, Feb. 4, 2019. A son of the late Raymond and Virtue Colvin Carson, he was born in Bentleyville on April 25, 1936. Leon grew up on his family’s farm in Fallowfield Township and later moved to Belle Vernon to raise his family. A beloved husband, father and grandfather, he was a sixth-generation farmer in Fallowfield, a lumber inspector and an operating engineer. Survivors include two daughters, Regina Stottlemyer of Fallowfield Township and Lisa (Mark) Williams of Smithton; two sons, Dennis (Denise) Carson and Jeffrey (Cindy) Carson, all of Fallowfield Township; two sisters-in-laws, Doris Carson and Cynthia Kinder; 13 grandchildren, Tara Stottlemyer, Rebecca Bergstedt, Jaclyn Royall, Kelsey Pust, Keith and Kevin Carson, Sarah Fafalios, Brandon and Erin Carson, James and Dakota Shawl, and Rachel and Ryan Williams; and five great-grandchildren, Caleb Carson, Kiya Franklin, Andrew and Carson Williams and Skylar Shawl. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Eileen Cheti Carson; a daughter, Susan Carson; two brothers, Olan and Kenneth Carson; a son-in-law Rande Stottlemyer; two grandchildren, Sean Stottlemyer and Katelin Williams; and a great grandchild, Canaan Carson. Friends will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at FERGUSON FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY INC., 700 Broad Ave., Belle Vernon, www.FergusonFuneralHomeAndCrematory.com, 724-929-5300. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday in the Bible Chapel – Rostraver Campus, 203 Johnson Ave., Belle Vernon, with Pastor Dave DiDonato officiating. Interment will be in Maple Creek Cemetery at a later date.
