A Monessen man accused of attempting to flee from state police and concealing drugs in a body cavity was arrested Monday in Fayette County.

Trey Zachery Holmes, 23, of Miller Street was charged with possession of a firearm prohibited, flight to avoid apprehension/trial/punishment, firearms not to be carried without a license, intent to possess a controlled substance, use or possession of drug paraphernalia, tampering with/fabricating physical evidence, resisting arrest/other law enforcement, providing false identification to law enforcement officers, disorderly conduct – obscene language/gestures and driving with license suspended or revoked.

State police from the Uniontown barracks were on patrol just before 1 p.m. on Connellsville Street in Uniontown, when they observed two men acting suspiciously in a rented Nissan, according to an affidavit of probable cause.

Police followed the vehicle to a Carlisle Street residence, where the passenger exited and went into the home. Officers said they could smell a strong odor of marijuana coming from inside the vehicle and allegedly saw dryer sheets stuffed into the air vents and small black rubber bands in plain view, the affidavit states.
