Emilie F. Smith – Belle Vernon

Emilie F. Smith, 81, of Belle Vernon, went to be with the Lord on Friday, Feb. 1, 2019, in Lehigh Valley Hospital. A daughter of the late Eugene and Flora Viola Green Russell, she was born in Cookport, Pa., on Feb. 14, 1937. Emilie lived in Belle Vernon for 50 years and was a member of the Belle Vernon Church of the Nazarene. She enjoyed spending time with her grandkids, crocheting, doing word search books and watching old TV shows. Survivors include four daughters and sons-in-law, Lucinda Carlson and Robert Lees of Pricedale, Pamala Baker of Belle Vernon, Alice and Charles Schneider of Bethlehem, Pa., and Regina and Edward Flanner of Fayette City; three sons and daughters-in-law, Jay and Maureen Smith of Fayette City, Robert and Cheryl Smith of Belle Vernon and Charles J. and Joyce Smith of Belle Vernon; a sister and brother-in-law, Edna Pearl and Edward Wiggins of Mineral Ridge, Ohio; 19 grandchildren and 35 great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jay F. Smith, in 2000, two brothers and six sisters. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at FERGUSON FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY INC., 700 Broad Ave., Belle Vernon, 724-929-5300, www.FergusonFuneralHomeAndCrematory.com. Funeral services will be held at noon Wednesday in the funeral home with Pastor Alan Hayden officiating.
