Michael J. Yankosky – Fallowfield Township

Michael J. Yankosky, 84, of Fallowfield Township, died on Friday, Feb. 1, 2019, surrounded by his loving family. He was born April 14, 1934, in Charleroi, son of the late John and Lydia Yagoszewski Yankosky. Michael owned and operated a dairy farm and he enjoyed nothing more than working on his dairy farm. He loved animals, gardening and reading. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Violet L. McMillen Yankosky, on April 6, 2011; a sister, Sophie Tokar-Novak; and a brother, Edward Yankosky. He is survived by five daughters, Patricia Pierce of Fallowfield Township, Linda Ginardi of Elizabeth Township, Michelle (Don) Lash of Belle Vernon, Teresa Shriver of Fallowfield Township, and Cathy Frey of Cokeburg; a son, Thomas (Kimberly) Yankosky of Ellsworth; 15 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Arrangements have been entrusted to the ANTHONY L. MASSAFRA FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATION SERVICE INC., 40 Second St. Ext., Carroll Township, Donora PA 15033, 724-379-6900, where the family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, Feb. 4, 2019, and from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday. A blessing service will be held in the funeral home at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 6, 2019. Interment will follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery, Monongahela.
