Wanda ‘Sis’ Deems Colvin – Formerly of Charleroi
Wanda “Sis” Deems Colvin, 89, formerly of Charleroi, passed away on Jan. 26, 2019, at her home in Prescott Valley, Ariz. Mrs. Colvin was born in Clover Hill. In 1952, she married the late Raymond Colvin of Charleroi, where they resided until moving to Arizona in 2013. She is survived by her three daughters, Patricia Harbaugh (David) of Portage, Ind., Cynthia Mudrick of Scottsdale, Ariz., and Sharen Instine (Randall) of Prescott Valley, Ariz.; four grandchildren, Jenna Mudrick, Keri Mudrick, Hunter Instine and Landon Instine; as well as three sisters, Waneeta Sosnak of Coal Center, Kaye Mowrey of Bethel Park and Karen Walsh of Annapolis, Md.; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond, in 2017; her parents, John Deems Sr. and Margaret Deems; four brothers, Eugene Deems, John Deems Jr., Charles Deems and Darrell Deems; and one sister, Norma Dennis. Mrs. Colvin was a longtime member of Grace United Methodist Church in Coal Center, where she enjoyed teaching Sunday School and choir membership over the years. She was a wonderful wife, homemaker, mother and grandmother, always putting her family first. She will be missed by many. The family will hold a private memorial service.
