By obits

Yvonne Pansino Turkovich, 79, most recently of Belle Vernon, but a long-term resident of Donora, passed away on Wednesday, Jan. 30, 2019, in Allegheny General Hospital. She was born in Monessen on April 9, 1939, to the late Rocco and Theresa Pansino. Yvonne worked hard all her life at a variety of jobs, starting at IBM working as a keypunch operator. After starting her family, she started a cake decorating and catering business that was enjoyed by all. After raising her family, she was an accomplished full-time team member at UPS. Yvonne loved cooking for family and friends and always made enough to share. She dedicated many years giving back to the community by volunteering for St Vincent de Paul. Yvonne loved basking in the sun with her toes in the sand, but loved her family and friends even more. Yvonne is survived by her husband of 58 years, William; and her three children, Donna (Marty) Hajduk, William (Shelly) Turkovich and James (Dawn) Turkovich, of whom she was very proud. She was even prouder of her six grandchildren, Anthony, Aaron, Sarah, Lauren, Joey and Marty. Yvonne is also survived by her sister, Cynthia Mytrysak, whom she loved to visit in Florida; and her brother, Sam Pansino. Arrangements have been entrusted to ANTHONY L. MASSAFRA FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATION SERVICE INC., 40 Second St. Ext., Donora, PA 15033, 724-379-6900, where friends will be received from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 3, 2019, for a remembrance gathering, followed by a 6 p.m. blessing service in the funeral home.
