Scrappy Rams fall to Scotties, 47-35

With a playoff spot secure, the Southmoreland girls basketball team has its sights set on a Section 3-4A title.

On Monday, the Scotties remained at the top of the section standings, but it wasn’t easy. Southmoreland managed to overcome a poor night of shooting and a scrappy Ringgold team in a hard-fought 47-35 victory.

The win is Southmoreland’s 10th in a row and it sets up a Thursday showdown with host Elizabeth Forward. Both the Scotties and Warriors will enter that game with identical 10-1 section records. Southmoreland owns a victory over Elizabeth Forward already this season.

The rematch with the Warriors may have been on Southmoreland’s mind a little bit, but the Rams certainly made sure they would be more than just a speed bump for the Scotties.
