With his team trailing 42-41 less than two minutes in to the fourth quarter Friday night, Charleroi’s Bill Wiltz knew he had to come up with a strategy to give his team an edge.

So the veteran head coach devised a plan to put the ball in the hands of one player in particular: Lee Zanardini.

The plan was executed to perfection as the senior guard scored eight of Charleroi’s 12 fourth quarter points to lead the Cougars to a 53-49 victory over visiting Frazier in Section 4-3A play.

Over the span of two minutes, Zanardini, who had four points in the first three quarters, scored eight straight points on two layups and a pair of jumpers to put Charleroi on top, 49-42, midway through the fourth quarter.
