Monessen rallies past Bishop Canevin

Darnel Howell and Devin Whitlock combined to score 42 points in Monessen’s 62-52 triumph over Bishop Canevin in Section 2-A play Friday night. 

Darnel Howell and Whitlock each poured in 21 points while Dishon Howell add 13 for the Greyhounds (10-6, 8-0). 

Four players finished in double figures for Bishop Canevin (11-6, 7-2) led by Dahvie Montgomery’s 17 points. Aidan Logan poured in 11 while Nate Kirsch and Dom Elliott each added 10. 

Monessen trailed 19-14 at halftime before outscoring its opponent, 48-33, in the second half. 

The Greyhounds resume play today against South Side Beaver at the PBC Hall of Fame Classic at Moon High School.
