It took two months and several witnesses, but Allegheny County Police found the remains of a Dravosburg woman who was likely murdered in November.
The body found Wednesday in a wooded area of Sewickley Township near White Oak was identified as 46-year-old Heather Short, according to police. The man charged with her murder is Dale Cooper, 36, of West Mifflin.
Short’s landlord reported her missing to McKeesport police Nov. 10. The case was transferred to the Allegheny County homicide unit less than two weeks later, according to an affidavit of probable cause.
Detectives determined she hadn’t used her cell phone or bank account since Nov. 7, the complaint states.
