A woman crashed her vehicle into a home along north state Route 88 in Carroll Township on Wednesday afternoon.
Carroll Township Police Chief Paul Brand said the accident happened around 12:40 p.m. along state Route 88 near Robert’s Auto Body.
Brand said the woman, identified as Terry Whaley, 78, was pulling into the parking lot when she apparently lost control of her car, causing it to crash into the porch of the house. The car was traveling about 35 mph, police said.
It’s unclear why she lost control of her car, Brand said.
Carroll Township firefighters removed Whaley from her vehicle.
She was transported to nearby Monongahela Valley Hospital in Carroll Township for treatment.
Brand said her injuries were not severe.
The homeowner, who was not identified, was home at the time of the crash.
“They heard a loud bang and came out to find a car nearly on their front porch,” Brand said.
No one inside of the home at the time of the accident was injured.
Brand said there was not a concern about the stabilization of the home.
Police were assisted on scene by Carroll Township fire department and Tri-Community Ambulance Service.
Additional information was not available prior to presstime.
