Martha L. Steward-Chambers, 99, of Donora, formerly of Washington, Pa., passed away unexpectedly on Monday, Jan. 21, 2019, in her home. She was born May 1, 1919, in Richwood, W. Va., the daughter of the late Whitfield and Florence Monrow Jackson. Mrs. Chambers graduated from Rostraver High School. She was a former member of the Mt. Zion Church, Washington, Pa., where she was very active within the church. Mrs. Chambers worked for many years as a nurses’ aide at the Washington Hospital and at McMurray Hills Manor.  She was very proud of her career as a nurses’ aide. Mrs. Chambers was an active volunteer in her community. She enjoyed music, especially jazz and big band orchestras. Mrs. Chambers was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and aunt. Her family meant everything to her. She will be dearly missed by all that knew and loved her. She was first married to Robert H. Steward, who is deceased. Her second husband, Charles Edward “Tippy” Chambers, is deceased. Surviving is a son, Robert H. (Sandra) Steward Jr. of Donora; two granddaughters, Sonja (Frank J. Green) Steward and ShaVonne Stewarad; one great-granddaughter, Jada Sharisse Cathers; two nieces, Betty Lawson and Kiki (Chris) Rosario; a nephew, James Jackson; and a great-nephew, Frankie Stevenson. A host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews also survive. In addition to her parents and husbands, Mrs. Chambers was preceded in death by two twin sisters, Mabel and Mazzie. Friends will be received from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday, Jan. 25, 2019, with 1 p.m. the hour of a funeral service in the WARCO-FALVO FUNERAL HOME INC., Wilson at East Katherine Ave., Washington, Pa., S. Timothy Warco, Supervisor/Director, Susan Falvo Warco, Director, S. Timothy Warco II, Director.  Bishop Bill Luckadoo will officiate. Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Gardens, McMurray.
