Leps back in playoff hunt

Head coach Joe Salvino’s Belle Vernon Area Leopards now find themselves gripping the final playoff spot in Section 3-4A, thanks in part to a 75-65 win over visiting Waynesburg Central Tuesday.
The Leopards got off to a hot start, something missing from recent games, and watched the Raiders chip into their lead before getting their act together and hold on for a win.
“We finally had a good start, that’s something we haven’t done much of this season,” Salvino said. “But that’s a win we had to have. We not only had a good start in the game, but we had a good start in the second half.”
Four players hit double figures for the Leopards (5-12, 2-4) led by Larry Callaway’s 21 points.
