No Payne, no problem for the Monessen Greyhounds.
The Monessen boys basketball team played without their big man inside, but didn’t change one detail of their gameplan Wednesday night.
Monessen got 22 points from freshman Devin Whitlock and key contributions from everyone in the lineup to knock off visiting Washington, 56-48, at Monessen High School.
While Monessen was without Elijahwa Payne (ankle) and Antwon Tucker (illness), the Prexies’ Dan Ethridge never left the bench due to an undisclosed coach’s decision.
But head coach Dan Bosnic vowed his team wasn’t going to change who they were despite being down two guys.
“Our gameplan was exactly the same,” Bosnic said.
