Donora man charged with assault, attempted break-ins

A Donora man is in prison after allegedly assaulting a woman and attempting to break into her home and the home of a borough councilman. 

Westley D. Sloan, 29, of Allen Avenue was arraigned Thursday before Magisterial District Judge Jesse Pettit in Washington County in two separate cases. 

He was charged with simple assault, disorderly conduct and harassment in the first case, and burglary, criminal trespassing, criminal mischief and intimidating witness/victim – withhold testimony in the second case. 

Donora police responded around 1:30 p.m. to 420 Second St. for reports of an assault, according to an affidavit of probable cause.
