Lights, camera, action!

With awards season in full swing, the Mid Mon Valley Cultural Trust is preparing to roll out the red carpet for its 2019 Oscar-Nominated Short Films and Red Carpet Gala.

Sponsored by the cultural trust, Douglas Education Center and Monongahela Valley Hospital, the two-day event is a unique way for cinema lovers to see all of the year’s short film nominees ahead of the 91st Academy Awards broadcast.

According to the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, a short film is “an original motion picture that has a running time of 40 minutes or less, including all credits.” All nominated short films are typically 8 to 15 minutes in length and are compiled into one feature film by Magnolia Pictures for viewing purposes.
