By obits

Robert S. Greenlee, 65, Carroll Township, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 15, 2019, in his home. A son of the late S. Carl and Erma Walker Greenlee, he was born in Livingston, Mont., on July 20, 1953. Rob attended the Calvary Bible Church in Charleroi. He had been an emergency responder in many capacities in Washington County since 1972, originally joining the fire service in Waynesburg as a young teenager. For the past 15 years, he was the fire chief of the Volunteer Fire Department of Carroll Township and served for the past two decades as Carroll Township’s emergency management coordinator. Prior to his tenure at Carroll Township he had been a member of the Webster, Fallowfield Township, Washington Township and the Waynesburg Volunteer Fire Departments. During the 1970s and 80s, he was a paramedic supervisor for the Washington Ambulance and Chair Company. He was a gold medal skating coach in the United States Association of Roller Skating and coached speed skating, taking his team to National Competitions in both 2001 and 2002. He was also a member of the Warrior Trail in Greene County. In his spare time, he was an avid Nascar fan and golfer. For over 20 years, he sold fire equipment for Premier Safety and truly enjoyed helping struggling fire departments. He loved his family, children, grandchildren and grand-doggies. Survivors include his wife, Terri Hamilton Greenlee, with whom he would have celebrated 35 years of marriage on Feb. 2, 2019; three daughters and a son-in-law, Jessica Lynn and Michael Clark of Forward Township, Megan Beth Greenlee of Carroll Township and Joy Anna Greenlee of Charleroi; two sons and daughters-in-law, Carl Scott and Alyson Greenlee of Carroll Township and Brett Robert and Alexandra Greenlee of Monongahela; two grandchildren, Rebecca Rose Clark and Barrett Scott Greenlee and one “on the way.” In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, John Greenlee, in infancy. Friends will be received from 2 to 9 p.m. Saturday and 1 to 9 p.m. Sunday at FERGUSON FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY INC., 700 Broad Ave., Belle Vernon. 724-929-5300, www.FergusonFuneralHomeAndCrematory.com. Funeral services will be held on Monday, Jan. 21, 2019, at a time and location to be announced. Interment will be in New Matamoras Cemetery, New Matamoras, Ohio. The family suggests memorial donations be made to the Volunteer Fire Department of Carroll Township, P.O. Box 154, Monongahela, PA 15063.
