Glassport amends trash ordinance

 Glassport officials are hoping to clean up the borough by making the garbage ordinance tougher.

Resident Kate Handra said she walks through the borough and sees garbage strewn in many places. 

“It is disgusting. People aren’t even putting their trash into containers or heavy contractor bags. They are using the white trash bags. Animals are ripping it open and it is laying everywhere.”  

Mayor Keith DiMarco said the garbage ordinance requires trash to be stored in containers.
