Bertha ‘Bertie’ L. Bradford – Aiken, S.C.

Bertha “Bertie” L. Bradford, 90, of Aiken, S.C., passed away peacefully Sunday, Jan. 13, 2019, at her home at the Place of Pepper Hill. After living in her childhood home for 67 years, she moved to Aiken, S.C. She spent her time working with Special Olympics and even started a swimming program for them in support of her son, John. She volunteered at Christ Central for many years. In addition to her parents, Bertie was preceded in death by a brother, John Drotar; her husband, James Bradford; and her beloved son, Johnny Bradford. She is survived by a daughter, Sally Bryan (Ken) of Aiken, S.C.; two sons, Arthur Bradford (Donna) of Orlando, Fla., and James Bradford (Patty) of Middletown, Pa. She also leaves four grandchildren, Heather Bradford, Kyle Bradford, Christopher Bradford and Jonathan Bradford. Her two great-grandchildren are Landon Bradford and Liam Bradford. The family will receive friends from 10:30 to 11 a.m. at Our Lady of The Valley Catholic Church on Thursday, Jan. 17, 2019, with a requiem Mass being celebrated at 11 a.m. at the church with Father Philip Wodecki as celebrant.
