Warriors pull away from Leopards late

There’s something about a game between rivals that brings out the best in each team.
In Monday’s girls’ game at Belle Vernon Area between the Leopards and Warriors, it was a knockdown brawl between two teams taking the other’s best punches.
In the end, though, it was the seasoned Warriors escaping with a 64-60 Section 3-4A win over a feisty Leopards squad.
“Give them credit, they came out with a lot of intensity,” EF coach Krystal Gibbs said. “In the first quarter, we tried to rush and we didn’t do a good job of closing out on shooters when we were in our zone.”
